Georgia’s more talented than Alabama? So says a Bulldog

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — The first bulletin-board shot for the SEC Championship Game has been fired.

It was sent by Georgia safety Bacarri Rambo. After the Bulldogs’ 42-10 victory Saturday over Georgia Tech, he made a bold statement on an appearance on ESPN radio.

He said Georgia’s defense is better than Alabama’s, even though the Crimson Tide’s is ranked No. 1 in the nation.

“I feel like we’re more talented,” Rambo said, according to this blog post on

“We have better players at each position, across the board, especially on defense. It’s going to be a great challenge for us. I know it’s going to be a battle. It’s going to come down to who has the best defense and who makes more turnovers. It’s going to be a battle of the defenses.”

No. 3 Georgia (11-1) and No. 2 Alabama (11-1) meet at 3 p.m. in the SEC Championship Game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The winner is almost certain to advance to the BCS Championship Game against No. 1 Notre Dame (12-0) on Jan. 7 in the Miami area.
